WTC EVENT - WEB FRONT PAGE-01

 DOWNLOAD THE SCHEDULE

Date: Saturday, September 13th

Time: 9.30 am – 5 pm

Venue: St. Lukes Community Centre
90 Central St. London EC1V 8AJ

This is an opportunity for teachers/youth workers (and a limited number of  VI form students) to learn about the Work the Change programme and how you could use it in your school.

The purpose is to ease the school-to-work transition for teenagers through peer to peer employability workshops. It aims to encourage students to realise that academic qualifications in themselves are not enough and find ways to build up their experience and skills while they are still at school.

During the morning we will go through our trainings for the VI form Ambassadors and show how they lead workshops for Year 10s. In the afternoon we will discuss the mentoring programme – engaging those students who rarely volunteer or “shine”. We will go through the mentorship sessions and discuss the final project which they have to plan and run themselves.

By attending this workshop you will:

• Learn new methodologies/activities that you can use with your students

* Find out how effective VI formers can be teaching their younger peers

• Take part in practical activities that engage young people who rarely volunteer

• Share ideas with others on building employability skills
