TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT

Peace Child International is a UK registered charity that for over 30 years has been working in collaboration with the world’s youth on a wide range of issues. Our work is guided by what young people tell us are their primary concerns which have varied from east/west relations, the environment and currently the problem of youth employment. Our current programmes all revolve around entrepreneurship, employability and job creation.  We have an ethos of co-management with young people working in equal partnership with older adults to achieve our goals and nearly all our programmes involve peer to peer education and action.

The charity is seeking to significantly develop over the next three years. As our founders seek to move on from the organisation, we are planning ahead by expanding out Trustee Board. We are currently looking at least for two new Trustees, to bring new skills, experiences and strategic input to our Board. We also anticipate appointing at least one new trustee who is under the age of 25 years-old.

We are looking for the following roles:

  • An experienced international development project manager or leader.  We have just started up 3 new Be the Change Academies in West Africa and India where we train up potential entrepreneurs and award small scale loans. We seek someone with a flair for monitoring and evaluation and experience of development work as well as an interest in promoting the green economy agenda.

  • Given that our current work revolves around job creation and enterprise we welcome applications from those with a business/corporate background an interest in corporate social responsibility.

We also welcome speculative applications from any individual who has a strong interest in youth development and/or education or fundraising and who has the skills, energy and time to help develop the organisation.

All applicants need to share our passion for empowering young people and the importance of sustainable development. We have quarterly evening meetings in London including an annual day-long meeting in Hertfordshire which you need to attend regularly; reasonable expenses are paid. We hope you will join us for at least a three year period; with the potential to renew at that point. You must be willing to have a CRB check.

Applicants must live within a 100 mile radius of London in order to attend meetings easily.
For informal and confidential discussion on the role please contact Simon Hills, Chief Executive Officer
Or apply direct to (simon@peacechild.org)  with a full CV and cover letter.
We want to know who you are, what you feel you can offer and what you want to gain from being involved.
