Summit
Development in Africa can only be achieved and sustained if young people are actively involved in all sectors ranging from Agriculture, Transport, Manufacturing, Mining, Commerce and Industry, Human Capacity Development etc.

We at the Network of African Youths for Development (NAYD) believe in a better and stronger Africa, where youth are the catalyst for change. To achieve this, we engage with thousands of passionate young people and youth-led projects across the width and breadth of the continent. Essentially, our work gives young people a platform from which to promote action on a wide array of issues, including Peace, Human Rights, HIV/AIDS and Environmental Sustainability. We also facilitate youth involvement with the UN’s Millennium Development Goals and in shaping the Post 2015 Development Agenda.

To build further “youth-generated” momentum toward shaping an equitable and sustainable future, NAYD will hold a summit in October 2013. The summit will invite young people, international development agencies, and donor agencies to come together to develop a road-map for a sustainable future. Despite still being 3 months away, the summit is already receiving plaudits; winning an Energy Globe Award.

Africa is the world’s second largest and second most populous continent with a population of over 1.33 Billion. Of that number over 60% are youth. If the energy of this vast number of youth is channeled appropriately it will increase the standard of living for everyone and also encourage an economic boom in terms of investment’ Hamzat Lawal (Nigeria).
