It was fun while it lasted but the heatwave is over. Ok, ok, I know that was a depressing opening gambit, but it gets better. We here at PCI, together with our friends at Earth Inheritors, are offering you guys the chance to escape the sadly inevitable, season inappropriate, downpours and migrate like sun-starved, tanning junkies to Southern France for a week, between the 20th and 27th of August  Some of you are probably now wondering since when was PCI interested in helping the sun deprived? Well, in truth we are not, the near guaranteed sunshine is merely the cherry on top of the Euro-Pie!

The volunteer run Euro-Pie is an all inclusive space where people can come together to share experiences, develop capacities and plan collective actions. The brainchild of the EYES network, this year’s event will be co-organised by organisations from all around Europe.

This family of environmentally minded organisations have been busy developing activities and workshops based around a wide array of mind-bendingly interesting topics. Among the topics sure to have you working up a mental sweat (perfect for cooling you under the sun) will be; reclaim democracy, water, climate, fair play economy, social justice and education.

Having solved the world problems, in theory at least, why not grab a concert? What you can do that?  Much like the original Glastonbury, before it became all corporate and headlined by pensioners, Euro-Pie is a festival where the worlds of activism and music meet. You won’t find Simon Cowell’s latest plastic creation here! The diverse lineup includes, Deluxe, les Yeux d’la tete, Z.E.P., Ziveli Orkestar, El Gato Negro, DJ Sasso and Dubioza Kolektiv. Something for everyone, basically!

After all that, I’m sure that you are champing at the bit to get involved. 70% of the transport costs are included, as is food and access to all the events for the week. Accommodation comes in the shape of your tent, perfect for the festival vibe. To find out more you can visit http://europie.org.
